The panels generate best in bright sunlight and cool temperatures. If the panels are free of snow, late winter and spring are among the best times in Finnish conditions for the efficient production of electricity.
On our long bright summer days, the system produces the most. This brightest time also effectively compensates for any reduction in power caused by the panels heating up.
When autumn comes, it will be cooler and there will still be enough light for the system to generate electricity to be of benefit.
Sunny winter days generate some electricity, but the yield is not comparable to other seasons. If the panels are covered in snow, the system will produce nothing. For safety reasons, clearing snow from the panels is not recommended.
The system is most effective from March to October.
